Zooming out

The city has been underway with improvements to Matheson Park since early 2023, which include a new playground, a splash pad, four pickleball courts, improvements to the baseball field and a loop trail, according to prior reporting.

Last April, a new playground at the park was completed and city officials recently celebrated the completion of the splashpad. Construction of the pickleball courts began last October, Community Impact previously reported.

What else?

These items—part of Phase 2 of improvements to Jerry Matheson Park—will be funded using $770,036 of the city’s $2.92 million in funds from the March 2021 American Rescue Plan Act, according to the agenda packet.

Other projects that have been funded through the city’s ARPA funds include Louie’s Together Playground, enhancements to the Depot Museum and the replacement of water meters, according to the agenda packet.
