Additional student holidays include Sept. 7 and 25, Nov. 20, Dec. 18, Jan. 6 and 18, Feb. 15, March 26 and 29 and April 30, per the approved calendar.
What’s new?
Funded by the district’s 2022 bond program, several campuses and facilities will open in the 2026-27 school year, including:
- Slawinski Elementary School: 31031 Tamarron Parkway, Fulshear
- Becerra Elementary School: 522 Brookewater Blvd., Rosenberg
- Administration building: 4810 Ave. I, Rosenberg
- Career and Technical Education Center: 1155 Hartledge Road, Rosenberg
Important to note
Bus schedules
With access to a student’s ID number, parents can view a student’s bus route through the VersaTrans My Stop E-Link and can track the bus with the My Stop app, according to the website.
Parents must have submitted a bus form on Skyward by Aug. 2 for their child to be able to take the bus on the first day of school. If filled out between Aug. 3-21, bus transportation will begin Aug. 24. After Aug. 21, a child will have to wait five business days before riding the bus.
Nutrition
Beginning in August, Lamar CISD will implement increased meal prices for students, Community Impact previously reported.
Prices include:
- $1.40 for breakfast and $2.80 for lunch for early childhood education through fifth grade
- $1.45 for breakfast and $2.90 for lunch for sixth through eighth grade
- $1.50 for breakfast and $3 for lunch for ninth through 12th grade
Students at select campuses are eligible for free lunch, while other students have to apply to receive benefits, per the website. To learn about income eligibility for free or reduced lunch, click here.
Registration
According to the district’s website, parents can submit a new student enrollment form and must present required documents to school, including:
- Proof of residency
- A copy of the parent or guardian's government-issued ID
- Student's birth certificate or passport
- Student immunization record
- Most recent transcript or report card from previous school
Online registration is available for students in kindergarten through eighth grade only, per the district website. After Aug. 6, online registrations made may not be processed in time for the beginning of school. Students registering for grades ninth through 12th will do so at their zoned high school.
In-person registration for pre-K through eighth grade will be available at the Central Registration Center located between Lamar Junior High and Lamar High School on Mustang Avenue.
Moving forward
The board of trustees will host its first meeting of the 2026-27 school year Aug. 18, per the district's website. The meeting will include a public hearing before the board votes on the tax rate.
