Tomball Fire Station No. 4, set to be complete around the end of July, will be staffed after Tomball City Council unanimously approved an interlocal agreement with Emergency Services District No. 15 at its March 6 meeting.
Tomball Fire Department Chief Joe Sykora said the previous interlocal agreement only provided staffing for Station No. 5, located at 19900 Telge Road, Tomball.
Sykora also told City Council that ESD 15 has approved the new interlocal agreement.
“This will include all staffing for station[s] four and five, will include overtime and all training costs,” Sykora said.
Through the interlocal agreement, the city will provide nine firefighters to each station, with both stations manned 24/7. ESD 15 will pay 100% of the costs associated with the hours worked by the firefighters and one battalion chief as well as pay for any training, according to the interlocal agreement.
