Magnolia ISD earns overall B rating from accountability ratings

Magnolia ISD earned an 87 overall rating from the Texas Education Agency accountability ratings, according to data released Aug. 14. This is the highest score MISD has ever received under the new accountability system.

The breakdown

MISD’s accountability score overall has slowly risen over the past 3 school semesters. During the 2023-24 school year, the district earned an 84 overall rating, which rose to an 86 and eventually to the current 87 overall rating.

The TEA accountability ratings are broken down into 3 major categories; in those 3 major categories, MISD managed to earn:

• Student achievement: 88
• School progress: 87
• Closing the gaps: 84

MISD had 8 campuses earn an A rating from the TEA, a historical high mark for the district. Out of the 17 eligible MISD campuses, 8 earned an A rating, 7 earned a B rating and 2 earned a C rating.
