Magnolia ISD’s board of trustees approved an attendance zone change for Williams Elementary to account for Heron Run, a new section of the master-planned community Audubon, at its April 14 meeting.

The gist

Heron Run includes 821 lots, broken down into around 490 that will be completed in 2025 and around 331 that will be completed in 2026, as previously reported by Community Impact.

The section was originally zoned to attend Williams Elementary School but is now zoned to attend Audubon Elementary, according to the meeting agenda.

A closer look

The district made the change to “avoid splitting subdivision zones between different elementary schools,” according to the agenda packet.

Williams Elementary has the largest enrollment of any of the district’s elementary schools, according to the agenda packet. Audubon Elementary currently has one of the district’s lowest enrollment counts.
