On Sept. 15, the Tomball ISD board of trustees is set to review multiple financial reports and approve contracts for construction of two bond projects using bond funds.
On the agenda
As previously reported, the TISD board approved the district's fiscal year 2026-27 budget of $258.5 million and a proposed tax rate of $1.0629 per $100 valuation.
The board will vote on an amendment Sept. 15 to the district's tax rate, setting the total at $1.0558 per 100 valuation. This new total is a $0.0071 reduction from last year. The board will also vote to approve other budget amendments and revised projected balances for any major funds.
TISD is still facing a projected shortfall, but should have an increased general budget for next year.
As previously reported, TISD passed a bond to help fund construction of a new Tomball Intermediate School. The board will vote to award ICI Construction a competitive sealed proposal for the construction project. The project will cost $49.27 million, with an overall budget of $59 million funded with 2025 bond funds.
At the district's workshop meeting on Sept. 14, TISD Chief Academic Officer Michael Webb will present a report on the TISD Virtual Academy for Cybersecurity. The board will also review memberships for the School Health Advisory Council, as presented by Karen Graves, TISD’s director of administrative services.
