The Montgomery County Precinct 5 Constable's Office is continuing to investigate a verbal threat made Tuesday against Magnolia West High School, according to a Sept. 26 press release from Precinct 5. However, the campus is operating under a normal schedule Wednesday and is not under a lockdown, Precinct 5 Chief Chris Jones said.

A Magnolia West student threatened to retaliate against the school for being suspended for dress code violations, officials said in the release.

Jones said officers went to the student's house last night to investigate the threat.

"We spoke with [the student's] parents, and we found no weapons or anything like that," Jones said in an interview. "We are discussing possible charges of false threat."

The Constable's Office is investigating the threat, and the student will not be at school until a full investigation has been complete, according to the release. The investigation is ongoing.

Magnolia ISD contracts with Precinct 5 to provide school resource officers at its campuses.

"The Precinct 5 Constable's Office is dedicated to the safety and security of all Magnolia ISD students and staff," Jones said in a statement. "As additional information becomes available, it will be released as quickly as possible."

Magnolia West students, faculty, staff and parents can expect extra patrol within the area until the situation is resolved, according to the release.

According to a Facebook post from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, MISD is providing additional officers to ensure safety at the school.
