In a 4-1 vote at its Nov. 7 meeting, the Tomball City Council approved an amendment to its sports courts reservation policy to limit pickleball court reservations to 11 a.m.-5 p.m Monday-Friday.
Council Member Mark Stoll said he does not believe reservations should be allowed for groups outside of Tomball and voted against the amendment.
The amendment was put forth to City Council following comments from members of the public at the council’s Oct. 17 meeting, according to the agenda packet.
The sports courts reservation policy, originally adopted at the council’s Oct. 3 meeting, allows three-hour reservations for the city’s tennis and pickleball courts. Individual reservations for the courts start at $5 for two hours for residents and $10 for two hours for nonresidents. Reservations can be made by contacting the public works department or filling out the sports court reservation form.
