The Tomball German Festival Christmas Market slated for Dec. 11-13 was canceled in early October due to concerns surrounding the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, according to the festival's website. The event typically draws a crowd of 30,000-40,000 guests to the four blocks in downtown Tomball, General Manager Craig Bogner said, making social distancing near impossible.
The Christmas Market follows the March cancellation of the Tomball German Festival, which was set to celebrate its 20th year in 2020, Bogner said.
The Tomball German Festival is set to return to downtown Tomball on March 26-27, he said.
The Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce's Holiday Parade has also been canceled for Nov. 21, Community Impact Newspaper previously reported, as have the remaining city festivals this fall.
