Lane closures will take place on westbound Woodlands Parkway at Kuykendahl Road on April 2 and April 3, according to the Montgomery County Traffic Operations Department.

What's happening?

Several lane improvements were made beginning in late 2024 to improve traffic flow along westbound Woodlands Parkway between Kuykendahl Road and FM 2978, according to information from Montgomery County Precinct 3.

A third thru-lane was added east of Kuykendahl Road to Lake Woodlands Drive, retaining a dedicated right-turn lane onto northbound Kuykendahl Road and a dedicated right-turn lane into Sterling Ridge Village Center, Community Impact previously reported.

A new 30-foot signal pole, 60-foot mast arm, signal heads and fiber for the new signal will be installed on westbound Woodlands Parkway at Kuykendahl Road on April 2 and April 3 between 9 a.m.-3 p.m. both days, according to a news release.

Two westbound thru-lanes will be closed for vehicles approaching Kuykendahl Road on Woodlands Parkway. In addition, the right-turn lane on southbound Kuykendahl Road at Woodlands Parkway and the left-turn lane on northbound Kuykendahl Road at Woodlands Parkway will be closed while the work is completed, according to a news release.

Precinct 3 has previously stated the cost of the project is $789,663. The crew will return next week to remove the temporary poles and get the new signal operational, according to a news release.
