Grogans Mill Road and Research Forest Drive turn lane construction
Turn lane improvements at Research Forest Drive and Grogans Mill Road will extend the westbound acceleration lane from southbound Grogans Mill to westbound Research Forest as well as the westbound Research Forest lane to northbound Grogans Mill. As of mid-June, the westbound lane was completed, and work on the eastbound lane will begin in July after utility pole relocation is completed, according to engineer John Bleyl. The project is being managed by Montgomery County Precinct 2.

Woodlands Parkway turn lane extensions at Kuykendahl Road
Contractor Teamwork will extend the left-turn lanes on westbound Woodlands Parkway headed onto southbound Kuykendahl Road, according to Montgomery County Precinct 3. A second project will add a left-turn lane to southbound Kuykendahl Road turning onto eastbound Woodlands Parkway.

David Memorial Drive extension
Right of way clearing to extend David Memorial Drive to Hwy. 242 took place in mid-March, and Shenandoah officials approved the three-party interlocal funding agreement with Montgomery County in April. As of June 15, the city of Conroe has not approved its portion of the funding. Bidding took place June 8, and construction should start in July pending an agreement on its portion of the construction costs, which are about $2 million, Bleyl said. The estimated cost of the project was updated from $9.1 million to $7.8 million, with the construction bid coming in at about $7.4 million, Bleyl said.

Robinson Road realignment
Oak Ridge North approved easement agreements with Entergy Texas in January to begin moving utilities to make way for a project to align Robinson Road across Hanna Road. Delays with Entergy’s relocation plans have set the project back to begin in August, according to city officials.

According to Montgomery County Precinct 3, as of June 9 the lanes were open and some work was continuing on sod replacement. An additional phase extended left-turn lanes on southbound Gosling onto eastbound Woodlands Parkway.

Hanna Bridge repair
Montgomery County Precinct 3 began pavement repair and replacement on the Hanna Road bridge north of Rayford Road on June 5. The bridge was closed during construction and work was scheduled to be completed in late June.
