Visit The Woodlands, the convention and visitors bureau for The Woodlands, held its Dec. 14 meeting to reorganize the board and elect officers following the appointment of the newly elected The Woodlands Township board members.

Board member Fred Domenick served as interim chair over the meeting since the elected chair and vice chair of the board were not in office.

Bruce Reiser, the former chair of the Visit The Woodlands board, spoke regarding his tenure and the accomplishments during that time. He described his mission to make Visit The Woodlands financially independent of The Woodlands Township, which he said should be accomplished in the next five years.

“I think you know by anybody’s measure, the last six years on this board have been the most dynamic in the history of the Convention and Visitors Bureau,” Reiser said. “I sincerely hope going forward that all of you exceed my expectations.”

After a written ballot, the board members officially elected seven members to the board: Cameron Klepac, Monique Sharp, Brad Bailey, Linda Nelson, Richard Franks, Fred Domenick and Jenny Taylor.

Brad Bailey was elected as chair of the board with Fred Domenick as vice chair and RIchard Franks as treasurer and secretary. Nick Wolda was also nominated and re-elected as president.

“We’re looking really to work together as one community because there is nothing better than to bring people to The Woodlands, to visit here, to move and relocate here,” Bailey said.

The board also shifted the start time for meetings in 2023. The next meeting will be at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 18 at 2801 Technology Forest Blvd., The Woodlands.
