Residents of Creekside Park and Carlton Woods at Creekside Park in The Woodlands are within the region that is implementing voluntary water restrictions for landscaped areas, according to the utility district governing the area's water services.

Harris-Montgomery Counties Municipal Utility District No. 386 implemented Stage 1 of its Drought Contingency Plan following decisions by the city of Houston and the North Harris County Regional Water Authority, according to a news release from The Woodlands Township July 5.

This means residents of Harris County portion of the MUD are being asked to limit water usage for irrigation purposes. The restriction does not include MUD 386 residents in Sterling Ridge-May Valley, according to the MUD.

The restriction consists of the following voluntary days and times for landscaping water usage:

  • Residents with an even-numbered address: Voluntary irrigation times are from 8 p.m. Sundays until 2 a.m. Mondays and from 8 p.m. Thursdays until 2 a.m. Fridays.

  • Residents with an odd-numbered address: Voluntary irrigation times are from 8 p.m. Saturdays until 2 a.m. Sundays and from 8 p.m. Wednesdays until 2 a.m. Thursdays.

  • Nonresidential customers: Voluntary irrigation times are from 8 p.m. Tuesdays until 2 a.m. Wednesdays and from 8 p.m. Fridays until 2 a.m. Saturdays.

Additional information on restrictions is available on the township website. Updates will be posted on the MUD 386 website, and information on peak water usage can be found at the Environmental Protection Agency website.
