Trash and recycling pickup may be delayed in The Woodlands Township through Jan. 8 due to staff shortages as a result of COVID-19 and could be extended into the next week, according to a township news release.

Waste Management will collect trash and recycling as late as 7 p.m., and some routes will be collected the following day through Jan. 8, according to the release. Residents are asked to leave recycling, trash and yard waste containers at the curb until receiving service.

However, if carts are not serviced within 24 hours of the close of the regular service day, residents are asked to call Waste Management at 800-800-5804.

Hours of operation at The Woodlands Recycling Center, 5402 Research Forest Drive, The Woodlands, remain the same from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.

The service delays may continue during the week of Jan. 10 and beyond, and residents are asked to sign up for alerts at www.thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/notifyme for additional information.
