Several events celebrating the arts and music are scheduled in The Woodlands this spring. This list is not comprehensive.

'20 Dashing Years' reception

A reception for The Woodlands Arts Council's exhibit commemorating 20 years of the Art Dash Party will be held March 27, while the exhibit itself runs through May 8. The exhibit features previous winning selections from past participants. Regular gallery hours are Tuesdays through Thursdays, 1-4 p.m.Art Dash Party

The Art Dash Party, held before The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival, marks 20 years this year. The event includes live music, an art auction and food and beverages. Funds raised at the Art Dash Party from the live auction and ticket sales will benefit The Woodlands Arts Council’s Student Art Scholarship Program. This year, The Woodlands Arts Council awarded nearly $60,000 in scholarships, including a $20,000 award for one student to mark the Art Dash Party’s 20th anniversary, according to a news release.

The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival


Attendees can explore artwork at the The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival outdoor gallery, an event showcasing authors, music, food and activities for children. Proceeds from the festival go towards The Woodlands Arts Council's microgrant and student art scholarship programs.

Musical series with Woodlands Symphony Orchestra

The Woodlands of Children's Museum received a grant from the Montgomery County Community Foundation to hold a four-part musical series with Woodlands Symphony Orchestra this spring. The series gives children an opportunity to meet local musicians and learn about the different instrument families that are part of the symphony orchestra.Market Street art show

Artists can submit items such as paintings, photography, jewelry, metal works, sculptures, digital art, mixed media and other works of art for the Market Street art show. Artists can drop off applications at the Market Street Concierge Desk with payment for exhibit space. The application deadline is April 4. The event will be open to the public with a rain date of May 17, according to the organizers.
