Due to recent weather events, the Yappy Hour event May 3, and Open Water Swim Day on May 4 have been canceled, according to The Woodlands Township. The Fired Up Tour will occur as scheduled.

Play at Insperity Invitational was canceled on May 3, and officials said in a news release the Saturday schedule would be revised. More information can be found on the website.

Yappy Hour

A Dog Walker Watch Yappy Hour will be held at Cattail Park for residents to learn how to assist with crime prevention and recognize suspicious behavior.

Open Water Swim Day


The Woodlands Township is offering an open water swimming practice event. Participants will be able to swim the course as much as needed during the allotted time period with the Red Cross Certified Lifeguards and The Woodlands Fire Department on-site.

Fired Up Tours

The Woodlands Fire Department and Neighborhood Services are holding several sessions of fire department tours. This event will include public safety education with a hands-on exploration of fire trucks and police vehicles followed by a lights and sirens experience.

Election day

Voting will take place for elections including the city of Oak Ridge North, Harris County Emergency Services District No. 11, various Municipal Utility Districts and the Montgomery Central Appraisal District at various locations in south Montgomery County and Harris County.
