On Jan. 23, Tomball ISD held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its agricultural center, which is located within the Tomball Innovation Center located along FM 2920.
In a nutshell
The agricultural center will serve as the venue for robotics, fine arts, career and technical education, and campus-based programs as well as house district events, such as the FFA Project Show, according to a Jan. 24 news release.
The center is just over 45,000 square feet and funded through the district’s 2021 bond, according to the news release.
- “This is a very special [project] for us,” Superintendent Martha Salazar-Zamora said during the ribbon-cutting. “We are very, very excited. And as you can tell, the energy level is really, really high. Our students came in and had been just blow away by just the size.”
- “This is really the fourth location that we’ve had the [FFA] Project Show and sale,” board President John McStravick said during the ribbon-cutting. “It is very special to me. All of my children went through the program, I went through the program, and several of my fellow board members did as well. So what a testament to where we are today in the district.”
