At the Sept. 15 regular meeting, the Tomball ISD board approved a lower property tax rate for fiscal year 2026-27 and contracts to begin construction for two bond projects.
Cost to the district
The tax rate for FY 2026-27 is broken down into a maintenance and operations tax rate of $0.6598 per $100 valuation as well as an interest and sinking tax rate of $0.3960 per $100 valuation.
This equals a total property tax rate of $1.0558 per $100 valuation, which is a $0.0071 reduction in the rate from the prior year.
Another thing
As previously reported, Tomball ISD in May 2025 passed a $429 million bond package for school and technology upgrades. On Sept. 15, the board approved a contract using Bond 2025 funds for ICI Construction to build the new Tomball Intermediate School facility. The construction cost of the project is $49.27 million, with a project budget of $59 million.
The board of trustees also approved a contract increase for the Tomball High School Career and Technology facility being done by Millennium Project Solutions Inc. The total contract will be raised from $8.63 million to $8.73 million using Bond 2021 funds.
