Misty Odenweller, Tiffany Nelson and Melissa Dungan were elected to the board in the Nov. 8 election. Board President Skeeter Hubert was also sworn in as a trustee for Position 7. Hubert was previously the trustee for Position 3, but he was appointed by the board in September to replace Trustee Scott Moore following Moore’s resignation.
Odenweller, Nelson and Dungan ran together as “Mama Bear” candidates fighting for transparency and accountability at all levels of the district.
“This is a difficult position,” CISD Superintendent Curtis Null said. “Yet they give so much of their time, and heart and soul to making this community great. ... I truly believe this is the greatest public service position in the community, and so we’re thankful to have great people that want to do that and dedicate themselves to our school district.”
The new board will be in place for its next regular board meeting on Dec. 13.
