With all precincts reporting, Montgomery County unofficial final election results show the three '"Mama Bear" candidates winning their races to take positions 1, 2 and 3 on the Conroe ISD board of trustees.

Position 1

Tiffany Nelson won the Position 1 seat with 46,451 votes, or 52.56% of the vote. Runner-up Ashley Fehrle earned 18,899 votes, or 21.39%. Mike Midler followed Fehrle with 10,219 votes, or 11.56%. Serafin Farias and Evan Berlin took last, with 7,226 votes, or 8.18%, and 5,576 votes, or 6.31% of the vote, respectively.

Position 2


Melissa Dungan defeated incumbent Ray Sanders to take his place on the board. Sanders has been a member of the board since 2012 and was the board secretary. Dungan earned 52,158 votes, or 59.96% of the vote. Sanders earned 34,836, or 40.04% of the vote.

Nelson, Dungan and position 3 candidate Misty Odenweller, who won an uncontested election for the third position, told Community Impact that they see a lack of transparency as being the main challenge facing the district and they will fight for accountability at all levels of CISD. When the announced their runs, the candidates described themselves as “Mama Bears” fighting for their children in the district.

With 73 out of 111 Montgomery County precincts reporting, Tiffany Nelson and Melissa Dungan hold the leads in their respective races for the Conroe ISD board of trustees.

Position 1

Nelson leads the field of five candidates for the Position 1 seat on the board. Incumbent Dale Inman did not run for re-election. Nelson is 22,920 votes ahead of the next candidate, Ashley Fehrle, with 38,295 votes, or 53.09% of the vote. Fehrle received 15,375 votes, or 21.32%. Mike Midler follows Fehrle with 8,293, or 11.42% of the vote. Serafin Farias and Evan Berlin follow Midler with 5,794 votes, or 8.03% and 4,425, or 6.13%, respectively.

Position 2


In the race for the Position 2 seat, Dungan has 42,925 early votes, or 60.52%, and incumbent Ray Sanders received 28,006 votes, or 39.48%. Sanders has served on the board since 2012 and is the board secretary.

Early voting results in Montgomery County show the slate of three candidates who ran as "Mama Bear" candidates taking the lead in races for the Conroe ISD board of trustees.

Positions 1, 2 and 3 on the CISD board of trustees were up for election. Trustees serve in four-year terms.


Position 1

Tiffany Nelson leads the field of five candidates for the Position 1 seat on the board. Incumbent Dale Inman did not run for re-election. Nelson is 18,652 votes ahead of the next candidate, Ashley Fehrle, with 31,190 votes, or 53.56% of the vote. Fehrle received 12,538 votes, or 21.53%. Mike Midler follows Fehrle with 6,331, or 10.87% of the vote. Serafin Farias and Evan Berlin follow Midler with 4,653 votes, or 7.99% and 3,518, or 6.04%, respectively.

Position 2

In the race for the Position 2 seat, Melissa Dungan has 35,055 early votes, or 61.33%, and incumbent Ray Sanders received 22,100 votes, or 38.67%. Sanders has served on the board since 2012 and is the board secretary.


Position 3

Position 3 was an uncontested race, following the disqualification of incumbent Board President Skeeter Hubert. Hubert will continue to serve on the board as the Position 3 trustee after Trustee Scott Moore announced his resignation. Misty Odenweller will take Hubert’s spot as the Position 3 trustee.
