The University Interscholastic League released the 2022-24 UIL conference realignments Feb. 3. According to the UIL, Conroe ISD's Caney Creek High School, located at 13470 FM 1485, Conroe, moved from the 5A conference to the Region 2 District 13-6A conference for football, volleyball and basketball. According to the district, the change marks the first time all six CISD teams are in District 13 together.

A 6A conference includes schools with an enrollment of 2,225 or more, while the 5A conference includes schools with a 1,300-2,224 enrollment range. In addition, New Caney High School in New Caney ISD and Cleveland High School in Cleveland ISD joined the existing schools in Region 2 District 13-6A for football, volleyball and basketball.
