Several new businesses, including restaurants as well as locations for fitness training and sporting goods, have announced recent or upcoming openings in The Woodlands area. Here is a look at five new locations reported by Community Impact.

Local Public Eatery

According to an Aug. 21 release, Local Public Eatery opened a new location at Market Street in The Woodlands, marking the concept’s first Houston location and second Texas location.

The 5,140-square-foot space features curated artwork, vintage lighting and cozy area rugs, according to the release. The space also offers a screen at the bar for sports and a wrap-around patio with a retractable roof, intimate dining spaces and a central deck bar.


At the bar, customers can find a large selection of beer, wine and hand-crafted cocktails like the Spicy Guava Margarita. Local Public Eatery offers comfort food classics including fried chicken ramen, loaded potatoes and barbecue rice bowls.Edge Pro Shops by Gary Loomis

Officials with Edge Pro Shops by Gary Loomis confirmed the fishing equipment shop opened in Spring on Aug. 23. Specializing in American-made fishing rods, Edge Pro Shops also offers rod and reel repair services.Coming soon

Charolais by Chef Austin Simmons

A new restaurant by the former chef at Tris, which closed in January, was announced on Aug. 26 by Howard Hughes. The new restaurant will open in early 2026. The restaurant will specialize in high-quality beef produced through a program focusing on genetics and sustainable animal husbandry, and it includes the chef’s full involvement in the process, according to a news release. The exact address has not yet been disclosed as of press time.


Bar Bludorn The Woodlands

Chef Aaron Bludorn will open Bar Bludorn The Woodlands next summer, according to a news release from Howard Hughes. Bludorn's Houston restaurants include Bludorn, Navy Blue, Bar Bludorn, and Perseid, and his new location at 25 Waterway will be the neighborhood tavern Bar Bludorn, according to the release. This is the chef's first restaurant outside of central Houston, and it will pair a contemporary American bistro menu with Texas-inspired flavors, according to the release.FS8

FS8 offers low-impact and high-energy training that was developed for every body, according to the company. New clients can download the FS8 app on Apple or Android to get a free trial, according to the company. The FS8 website states the company has a fitness program combining elements of Pilates, tone and yoga.
