Officials with Mexican restaurant Kokomos Mexican Cantina & Restaurant announced on social media the closure of the business May 7.

The restaurant originally opened in 2022.

"Unfavorable economic conditions has got the best of us," the restaurant owner said in a social media post. "We have spent many hours here meeting the wonderful people of our Woodlands/Oak Ridge community. In the end we gave it our all. We want to thank all of you that have supported us throughout our journey and dream."
