Founded in 2024 by husband and wife Chris and Nezi Whiteman, Eat This Fast & Fresh is known for healthy, fast, chef-prepared meals designed for customers with a variety of dietary needs. Owner Nezi Whiteman said the kitchen is completely gluten- and seed-oil-free.
The history
Eat This opened May 24, 2024, but the story goes back 14 years, when Nezi Whiteman met chef Jesse Cavazos while working as his personal trainer.
“It just so happened that I was training my chef," Nezi Whiteman said. "He’s the one who developed the first round of recipes, and we started the business with him.”
Nezi has an autoimmune condition, and her husband, Chris, has celiac disease, both of which can make it difficult for them to eat at many restaurants, she said.
“Because of my medical condition, I couldn’t just eat anywhere and feel safe,” Nezi Whiteman said. “When I met my husband, that made it even more clear the direction we had to take.”
What’s on the menu
Nezi Whiteman grew up in Bulgaria and said she knows the value of home-cooked, healthy meals.
Eat This offers dishes such as Southwest Sizzle Steak, Loaded Baked Potato, Loaded Meatloaf and Grilled Chicken Curry & Sweet Potato. The menu also includes salads such as the Better Caesar and Better Cobb.
Eat This also partners with local businesses, including ZoZo Fresh in Tomball for cold-pressed juice and Navarro Bakery near Lake Conroe for gluten-free baked goods.
“We have a little bit for everyone,” said Nezi Whiteman. “So we have a little bit of Italian, a little bit of Asian, so people never get bored with the same flavors.”

What’s special about it?
All of the Eat This dishes are made from scratch in a kitchen behind the counter, similar to a restaurant kitchen.Ashton Yeaman/Community Impact
Eat This uses 90% lean grass-fed ground beef imported from New Zealand, while its steaks are shipped from Australia. All of its dishes are made from scratch in a kitchen behind the counter and served in fully compostable containers.
Eat This is able to sell meals tax-free under Texas tax codes because reheating is necessary to make the food ready to eat.
Eat This prides itself on its fast, grab-and-go model of service. It also offers pre-order service for pickup and delivery, catering services and vending machines in offices, apartments and gyms.
The business also provides meal-planning options so customers can meet their dietary goals, either independently or with the help of a personal trainer.
Eat This was named a finalist in the meal prep service category for the Houston’s Best annual awards program.
