The TGI Fridays restaurant in The Woodlands has closed, a media representative for the restaurant chain confirmed in a Jan. 3 email.

The restaurant is one of 36 locations nationwide closing, the brand announced in a news release.

"As part of the brand's ongoing growth strategy, TGI Fridays will also close 36 underperforming locations in select markets across the U.S.," the release states. "As part of the store closures, TGI Fridays is offering more than 1,000 transfer opportunities, which represents over 80% of total impacted employees."
