Origin Bank announced on April 28 the hiring of Gil Staley as its director of business development as well as the opening of a new loan and deposit production office in The Woodlands.

The backstory

Staley retired from his position as CEO of The Woodlands Area Economic Development Partnership effective Feb. 1, where he recruited new businesses for the area and oversaw operations of the organization.

He brings more than 45 years of experience to his role at Origin Bank, according to a news release. Staley will support Origin’s strategic growth in the community as well as working to retain and expand area business development and strengthen relationships with partners.

Origin Bank's new loan and deposit production office will house the commercial team, composed of Joe Cox, Vishakha Deora, Alan Ramirez and Staley, according to the release. The retail team led by Karen Mixon will continue to serve customers from The Woodlands Banking Center, located at 2501 Research Forest Drive, Ste. A, The Woodlands.
