Sugar Land is accepting applications from the public to join civil service boards.

The Sugar Land 4B Corp. and the Independent Ethics Review Board, two of the city boards accepting applications, offer residents an opportunity to contribute their time and expertise to the betterment of the city, according to a news release.

The Sugar Land 4B Corp. takes charge of developing an all-encompassing economic development plan. This blueprint encompasses both short-term and long-term goals, laying the foundation for the city's growth, according to the release.The corporation also outlines guidelines governing the allocation of sales tax funds, according to the release.

These civic-minded groups offer insight and counsel on a range of matters impacting Sugar Land, according to the release. The deadline to submit an application is Aug. 18.
