Through art, music, dancing and food, the annual International Art & Kite Festival celebrates culture and community. March 27: Christ Church Concert for Ukraine
During the concert, a love offering will be taken to support humanitarian efforts being led by the United Methodist Committee on Relief. UMCOR provides food, water, shelter and other essentials to displaced people and refugees, and the ecumenical agency Samaritan's Purse established an emergency field hospital in Lviv. Along with the Christ Church Festival Choir and praise band, guest artists Aiya Izaks, a Latvian-American violinist, Mario Pedoe, Molly Ness, DeAndre Johnson and G.T. Mangum will be performing. Selections will include Vivaldi, Lutkin, Kreisler, "Schindler's List," Kasatchok, "I Believe," and "Mighty to Save." Among the special guests for the concert will be Bishop Scott Jones of Houston and Bishop Eduord Khegay, who serves as Methodist episcopal leader in Ukraine, Moldova, Kazakhstan and Russia.
