92 Chicken, a Korean-style fried chicken franchise, will open in Sugar Land this summer.

On the menu

The business specializes in fried chicken that’s hand-battered and double-fried to make it crispy. The chicken can be seasoned with 15 different flavors, co-owner Hong Vuong said in an email.

According to the eatery's website, some fried chicken varieties include:
  • Signature soy
  • Lemon spring onion
  • Curry sweet onion
  • Garlic spicy
  • Cheese monster
Additionally, the menu also showcases fried calamari, popcorn shrimp, jumbo shrimp, fish and chips, and dumplings.

About the owner

Vuong will run the business with her husband, Robert Vuong; this is their second eatery, following their first location on Westheimer Road in the Westchase area.

The couple are longtime residents of Fort Bend County, Vuong said.

“We love Korean fried chicken, and the area does not have a Korean fried chicken restaurant, [so] we decided to open one in Sugar Land,” Vuong said.

Zooming out

92 Chicken is a nationwide chain with more than 30 licensed locations, many of which are on the East Coast, according to the website.
