Fort Bend County Health & Human Services reported 131 new cases of the coronavirus and two additional deaths July 2.

With the new cases, Fort Bend County has seen a total of 3,999 coronavirus cases since the pandemic began. To date, 56 Fort Bend County residents have died from the coronavirus, and 1,365 have been reported to recover, leaving 2,578 active cases.



Additionally, the number of patients being treated for the coronavirus in Fort Bend County hospitals increased by 32 to 266 on July 2, according to data from the Southeast Texas Regional Advisory Council. Of the 266 coronavirus patients, 55 are in the intensive care unit, up four from one day prior.
