Morelia Gourmet Paletas, the gourmet Mexican popsicle shop known for fresh ingredients and an extensive menu, is slated to have its grand opening Jan. 28 and 29, the shop announced Jan. 19.

At its two-day opening event, Morelia will give away more than 1,000 Paletas per day at its new Sugar Land Town Square location, 16155 City Walk, Sugar Land, according to the announcement.

For Morelia, which derives its name from the capital city of the state of Michoacán, Mexico, where paletas were believed to have originated, the Sugar Land opening marks its 11th store in the U.S. and first location in Sugar Land since it opened in Miami, Florida, in 2016. www.paletasmorelia.com
