Harmony Public Schools, a Texas-based pre-K-12 college preparatory charter school system, announced the official opening of a new high school in Sugar Land.

Located at 13738 Old Richmond Road, Sugar Land, the new school, Harmony School of Innovation—Sugar Land, opened Aug. 29, built to serve 900 students in ninth to 12th grades in Fort Bend County, the charter school system announced.

The new campus includes several state-of-the-art science labs, a makers space, and a soccer and football field, according to the announcement.

The opening comes almost a week after Harmony announced it opened a school for eighth to 12th grades in the Katy area Aug. 23, Harmony School of Innovation – Katy, at 21650 Bellaire Blvd., Richmond. It has room for 700-800 students in addition to physics, biology, chemistry and engineering labs; a makers pace ;and a soccer and football field.

The Sugar Land school was granted an A rating by the Texas Education Agency across seven areas: English Language Arts and Reading, mathematics, science, social studies, comparative academic growth, postsecondary readiness and comparative Closing the Gaps.
