The Northwest Community Health Center opened in January and offers pediatric services, such as newborn care, adolescent care, asthma and allergy diagnosis and treatment, vaccinations, and school and sports physicals.
According to Bruno Gonzalez, director of strategic partnership for SBCHC, the clinic will expand its services in June to address mental health needs and eventually plans to offer adult health care services, including obstetric, vision and dental services.
Gonzalez said the federally qualified health center also partners with nonprofit Northwest Assistance Ministries to serve patients in need and assists patients at risk of homelessness by working with local landlords. Gonzalez said the location of the new clinic was selected based on need.
“That area is very underserved,” Gonzalez said.
