A variety of different projects are underway in Conroe, Willis, and Montgomery ISDs, including the construction of new schools and parking facilities. Conroe ISD passed a $1.9 billion bond package back in 2023 and Montgomery ISD passed a $326 million bond package in 2022.
Conroe ISD
Grand Oaks Junior High School
Project: The new Junior High campus will be an addition to the Grand Oaks ninth grade campus set to open in January 2027. Funded by the 2023 bond, the new campus is expected to help relieve overcrowding in the district.
Update: Building construction is progressing on schedule and furniture ordering is in progress for deliveries near the end of the calendar year with the 9th grade furnishings.

Grand Oaks Ninth Grade Campus

Conroe High School renovations
Project: Major Reorganization of the CHS Campus; the project is a part of the Multi-phase Master Plan that started in the 2015 bond and was continued in the 2019 Bond
Update: Front entry work is wrapping up and the new school year will open with the new front door. Work is isolated in the Auditorium in the month of August as the overall project comes to completion.

Kacy Arnold Elementary School
Project: Kacy Arnold Elementary is a new K-6 campus; its namesake comes from the late Kacy Stanley Arnold, who served as Assistant Director of Special Education for the district.
Update: The campus is currently loaded with furniture and learning materials, with the staff coming into their new building to set up for the start of the school year in August.

Janene Fowler Intermediate School
Project: The newly built 5th and 6th Grade campus will serve Conroe High School and future Timber Mill High School feeder zones.
Update: All the utilities are now connected; final testing of systems is in progress. The building is loaded with furniture and learning materials, with the staff coming into their new building to set up for the start of the school year in August.

Lynn Cartwright Junior High School
Project: The new campus is designed to meet the needs of the growing junior high student population; its name comes from former CISD English teacher Lynn Cartwright.

Caney Creek High School Ninth Grade Campus
Project: The new campus is designed to help with the transition for Caney Creek freshmen from Junior High to high school.

Timber Mill High School
Project: Funded by the 2023 bond, the newly designed campus will be able to house 3,800 students.

Knox Junior High renovations
Project: The $23.8 million renovation project was funded by the 2023 bond. The purpose of the renovations is to provide more infrastructure for the facilities along with new flooring and paint for the interior.
Update: Project is wrapping up to be ready for the start of school in August.

Oak Ridge High School renovations
Project: Continuation of Master Plan for campus, started in 2019; and continued with the 2023 Bond. Renovations are on their way for completion by the end of the year.
Update: The building construction is underway with the building envelope progressing rapidly. The project is scheduled for completion in December this year.

McCullough Junior High renovations
Project: Renovations and various additions for the McCullough Junior High School will be for the Gym and Classrooms.
Update: The project is wrapping up to be ready for school to start in August.

North Agriculture Facility
Update: The project is an expansion of the district's CTE program. The purpose is to build a facility to house and raise various livestock.

Montgomery ISD
Education Support Center upgrades
Project: To repair the deteriorating space of the MISD educational support center
Update: Walls have gone up, and mechanical work is in progress.

Willis ISD
Willis High School Ninth-Grade Center
Project: The center is a new expansion project for Willis High School as well as the parking lot.
Update: 10% complete as of now; preparation for foundation underway right now,

Transportation Center
Project: A new transportation center that will accommodate 100 buses along with staff offices.
Update: 20% complete; concrete and paving are in place; slabs are being laid, and water containers are being installed as well.

Willis High School Parking Improvements
Project: Funded by the 2024 Bond, this project expands and upgrades the Willis High School parking lot.
Update: Phase I of the project, which included 400 parking spaces, was completed in 2025. Phase II is scheduled to begin in September 2026 and will add an additional 664 spaces.
