R. L. Beatty and A'yonna Kellum will be competing for the Texas House District 150 Democratic candidate nomination.
The winner of the Democratic primary will run against Republican incumbent Rep. Valoree Swanson, R-Spring, in the Nov. 5 general election. Swanson is running unopposed in the Republican primary.

I am committed to advocating for working families by improving education, healthcare, flood mitigation, and public safety.
What would your top priorities be if elected?
Criminal Justice: Secure increased funding for essential personnel, technology upgrades and real-time offender tracking. Education: Ensure sufficient funding for schools, enhance teacher compensation, and reduce standardized testing. Health Care: Improve maternal and child health care services and safeguard rural health care facilities. Infrastructure: Invest in smart grid technology and constructing microgrids for ...
If elected, how would you work to accommodate the county's population growth?
I will prioritize road improvement, traffic management, drainage upgrades in expanding areas to prevent strain on older infrastructure. Technological solutions will be employed to optimize traffic flow during peak traffic periods.
If elected, how would you prioritize transportation projects?
I will support Harris County on the Vision Zero and Thoroughfare Plan initiatives, focusing on safety, congestion reduction, and equitable access. Project will be prioritized based on data and community input.
If elected, how would you approach economic development throughout the county?
Collaborate with local school districts, community college, universities, corporations, small businesses, and the local chamber of commerce’s to attract high-quality employment opportunities. Skills training for employee and students to prepare for new technological advancements.
