Mykawa Road is expected to go to bid in November. The project will convert the existing roadway to a four-lane concrete curb and gutter divided roadway section from Beltway 8 to Broadway Street. The project, which is run by the Texas Department of Transportation, will break ground in 2022.

The Mykawa widening is expected to cost $13.55 million and is funded by TxDOT, the Federal Highway Administration and the city of Pearland.

Construction is expected to end in 2023.
