The Brazoria County construction on Hwy. 288 will be substantially completed by the end of the month, according to County Engineer Matt Hanks.
Substantial completion means the major items in a project have been finished, and all that is left are smaller aspects of construction.
“All the paving is done, so the rails and the little work are what’s left now, and that will be done by the end of May,” Hanks said.
Hwy. 288 is a four-lane toll road that runs from Croix Road to the county line.
The Harris County portion runs from the county line into the Texas Medical Center and is now expected to be completed in mid-August, Hanks said.
