The overview
The grants were awarded April 25 in a “SurPrize Patrol” bus, which held over 30 education foundation board members to distribute the grant funds directly to classrooms, the news release notes.
“SurPrize Patrol Day is a celebration for so many,” FEF President Shanna Kirkpatrick said in the news release. “It is primarily a celebration of our passionate educators who wrote and were awarded grants to benefit their students and campuses, but it is also a celebration for those who work behind the scenes to get grants into the hands of those teachers and students.”
These grants funded books and math manipulatives, among other learning materials, the news release noted.
The Adopt-A-Grant campaign is an annual grant funding opportunity for educators at FISD. The campaign ran from early December through mid-March, according to the FEF website.
Quote of note
“The Adopt-A-Grant campaign is all about fostering innovative and engaging learning opportunities within FISD and giving the community a seat at the table to help bring them to life,” FEF Director Ashley Adair said in the news release.
