The goal of the fundraiser is to support FISD children and families in need during the holiday season by providing gifts for children, according to a Nov. 7 news release from the district.
The overview
This year, FISDCares teamed up with The Stable, Friendswood High School’s student-run merchandise business, to launch a special collection of Christmas-themed Mustang apparel, the news release reads.
FHS design students, who operate The Stable, have created this holiday line to raise funds for the project.
FISDCares is a project of non-profit organization The Alliance for Youth & Families, and works closely with campus counselors who make family referrals, the news release reads.
The Alliance for Youth & Families offers support to students and families to “build a healthier community.” The organization provides alcohol- and drug-free activities for children and educates on substance use prevention, according to the organization’s website.
To purchase holiday items from The Stable’s collection, visit thestableshop.org. Orders must be placed by Nov. 24, according to the news release.
All donations are tax-deductible, with all proceeds going to the fundraising project, per the news release.
