Friendswood ISD will have four competitive races, with each seat in the Nov. 5 election having a challenger to the incumbents.

What you need to know

Aug. 19 was the last day to file in Texas for local races that will appear on the Nov. 5 ballot, according to FISD’s website.

For FISD, positions 1, 2, 3 and 4 will have competitive races with all incumbents running for re-election.

The following candidates are all vying for a seat on FISD’s board of trustees in November, according to filing information provided by district officials. Candidates who filed are listed below, and an asterisk indicates they are the incumbent:

The order of the candidates is based on incumbents first. The district will have a drawing for candidates on the morning of Aug. 26 for placement on the ballot, Tammy Locklear, FISD’s secretary to the school board, said in an email Aug. 20.

The Friendswood Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a candidate forum from 6-9 p.m. Oct. 3 at Windsong Elementary, Locklear said in an email.

The last day to register to vote is Oct. 7. Early voting will be from Oct. 21-Nov. 1, according to district documents.
