Two new principals will be joining Alvin ISD for the 2024-25 school year at Hood-Case Elementary and Don Jeter Elementary after the board approved the new positions at its March 5 board meeting.

The principal for Hood-Case Elementary School will be Johanna Ramirez, the current assistant principal for Bel Nafegar Sanchez Elementary School, according to district documents.

The principal for Don Jeter Elementary will be Victor Martinez, the assistant principal at Fairview Junior High School, according to district documents.

Ramirez has 10 years of experience in education at Alvin ISD. She was the assistant principal for two years at E.C. Mason Elementary School, as well as a teacher and head of the science department at Walt Disney Elementary School for seven years, Superintendent Carol Nelson said at the meeting.

Martinez has seven years of experience in education at Alvin ISD. He was the assistant principal at Walt Disney Elementary School, an English Learning instructional coach for the Federal and Special Programs, or FSP, at Alvin ISD, and was a bilingual teacher for two years at Wilder Elementary, Nelson said at the meeting.
