School districts across the southeastern Greater Houston area have announced plans to cancel classes and operations on Feb. 4 due to inclement weather.

Pearland ISD

Pearland ISD will be canceling classes on Feb. 4, the district announced in a news release.

“Due to freezing weather that is expected to last until midday tomorrow and the possibility of hazardous road conditions, all Pearland ISD schools and facilities will be closed Friday, Feb. 4, 2022,” said Kim Hocott, PISD executive director of dcommunications, in an email.

However, extracurricular activities and events will resume on the afternoon of Feb. 4, Hocott added. The district anticipates a return to school and work for students and staff on Feb. 7.

Friendswood ISD

Due to forecasted inclement weather, all Friendswood ISD campuses and district facilities will be closed Feb. 4, the district announced via its Twitter page. Like PISD, it anticipates it will return to regular operations on Feb. 7.

Alvin ISD

Alvin ISD will be closed on Feb. 4 for students and instructional staff with classes expected to resume on Feb. 7, the district announced on its social media pages. However, central administration, operations and campus essential personnel will report to work by 10 a.m., AISD Director of Communications Renae Rives said in an email.

Clear Creek ISD

Clear Creek ISD will be closed Feb. 4 due to forecasted freezing temperatures and potential ice on roads in the community, the district announced in a news release.
