With 321 of 375 voting centers counted in Harris County, candidate Mayes Middleton is in the driver's seat for the Republican nomination of the Texas Senate District 11 seat.

District 11 stretches from from Manvel, Angleton and Pearland in the west to La Porte and into the city of Galveston. Middleton has an overwhelming advantage with 62.80% of the votes. The second closest is Bob Mitchell with 14.92% of the votes. All results are unofficial until canvassed.

Candidate Mayes Middleton's lead grew more over night for the Republican nomination for Texas Senate District 11 as more votes from Harris County were reported.

Texas Senate District 11, which stretches from Manvel and Angleton to Pearland, La Porte and into the city of Galveston, accounts for Brazoria, Galveston and Harris Counties. Brazoria County reported results from all 36 polls and Galveston County has reported 64 of 66 locations respectively. Harris County has reported 206 of 375 voting centers.


As of early morning on March 2, Mayes Middleton has 37,777 votes in all three counties combined. The second closest is Bob Mitchell with 8,930 votes in all three counties. All results are unofficial until canvassed.

Candidate Mayes Middleton has built a comfortable cushion for the Republican nomination for Texas Senate District 11 with all 36 polling locations in Brazoria County reporting voting results and 64 of 66 polling locations reporting for Galveston County. District 11 extends through Brazoria, Galveston and Harris counties.

Middleton has garnered 35,239 votes through the three counties together. Harris County has only reported two of 375 voting centers along with early voting numbers. The second closest candidate is Robin Armstrong who has accumulated 8,294 votes. Bob Mitchell has 8,141 votes and Bianca Gracia has 4,044 votes.

Early voting results for Brazoria, Harris and Galveston counties are in, and Mayes Middleton has an early lead for the Republican nomination of the Texas Senate District 11 seat. No Democrats filed for the seat.


Through the early voting period, Middleton accumulated 25,384 votes across all three counties. Candidate Robin Armstrong is second with 5,826 votes; Bob Mitchell has 5,735 votes; and Bianca Gracia has 2,689 votes.
