Officials with the Texas Medical Center announced in a Sept. 9 news release a lineup of new restaurants that will open across two of the campus's main buildings throughout late 2026 and early 2027.
The setup
TMC officials said the new restaurant openings are part of a broader vision for a "vibrant mix" of uses across its campuses, with dining, retail, residential, hospitality, conference and green spaces working together to support a "true live-work-play environment."
The new restaurants will be spread out between two of the Medical Center's busiest locations—the TMC Commons and the TMC3 Collaborative Building at Helix Park.
TMC Commons
New restaurants announced for the food hall include a mix of popular fast-casual options, coffee shops and healthier sit-down restaurants, such as:
Chick-fil-A: Known for its popular trademarked chicken sandwiches, nuggets and meals
Jimmy John's: Serves fresh-made sandwiches and wraps
Leaf & Grain: A locally owned, Houston-based restaurant serving salads, grain bowls and plates
Starbucks: The new coffeehouse will offer its classic and specialty beverage options
The new restaurants are a part of a broader renovation of the 30,000-square-foot Commons. Per prior reporting, the project includes reconstruction of the first floor of the building and the transformation of the outdoor green space.
TMC3 Collaborative Building at Helix Park
Restaurants that will join the TMC3 building in Helix Park include:
la Madeleine Bakery & Cafe: Guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner with a menu featuring soups, salads, sandwiches, pasta and handcrafted coffees, as well as pastries
Rakkan Ramen: The noodle shop will bring an elevated version of its traditional ramen to the Medical Center, as well as a sushi bar and izakaya-style selections
With the new announcements, approximately 90% of the available retail, restaurant and ground-floor space across both the TMC Commons and TMC3 building is now leased, per the release.

Something to note
The new restaurants are expected to open in phases starting this fall, with overall renovations of the Commons set for completion by spring 2027, according to the TMC's website.
