Bicycle Safety Course
Houston bicycle safety instructor Justin McMurtry will teach real-traffic cycling skills to Montrose residents, including intersection negotiation, lane positioning and decision-making. McMurtry is a certified League Cycling Instructor and CyclingSavvy instructor. He is also a co-founder of BikeHouston.

Chicken Wing Festival
Houston’s best wing spots are going head-to-head in an epic cook-off competition. Participants can listen to live music, watch the competition and vote for the people’s choice favorite. Saint Arnold Brewing Company will also host a complimentary tasting experience for guests 21 years and older.
Hands-on Houston: 25th Birthday Celebration
Celebrate the opening of “The Candle Show” at Asher: Off the Wall with a special drop-in candle-making event. Visitors and shoppers at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft can hand-dip their own pair of taper candles and shop for candleholders by renowned craft artists.
Houston Food and Wine Festival
Chefs for Farmers returns for its 5th year to showcase the city’s top chefs and restaurants, with a different lineup of participating chefs and restaurants featured each day. Guests can enjoy unlimited bites, craft cocktails and premium wine and spirit pairings.
ReadersFest
A two-day literary festival created by Book Club Babes HTX will bring together book lovers, authors, vendors and the local literary community at POST Houston. The event will feature an exclusive author panel followed by a book market.

A Texas Music Series
Discovery Green is launching Deep in the Heart, a free weekly concert series throughout October showcasing emerging and regional Texas artists from genres such as country, Tejano, indie rock and blues.
