Early voting is coming to an end.
The last day to cast your ballot early in Texas is Nov. 4. Afterward, voters will have to wait until Nov. 8 to vote on Election Day. Voters can go to any polling station in their county of residence to submit an early ballot, but on Election Day, residents will only be able to vote in their designated precinct.
Pearland ISD residents residing in Harris County have to go to two polling locations.
Harris County residents who live within Pearland ISD's boundaries will not see the school bond measure on the ballot. To vote on the measure, they will have to go to a Brazoria County polling location to separately vote on the bond.
Voters may loosen alcohol restrictions in Pearland.
After a successful petition with about 8,000 signatures, a private consultant was able to
place a local option election on the ballot. The measure calls for the sale of alcohol for off-premise consumption only. If approved, liquor stores could open in the city. Pearland City Council approved zoning for liquor stores in an Oct. 24 meeting that would require conditional use permits and limit their locations.
Straight-ticket voters should double-check their ballots.
Voting straight ticket won't work for nonpartisan ballot measures, like the Pearland ISD bond or the local option election to overturn alcohol restrictions in Pearland. After selecting straight-ticket, voters must scroll to the bottom and individually weigh in on those measures.
