Friendswood ISD's board of trustees is scheduled to further review plans for a potential bond election at its Jan. 28 workshop session, according to district documents.
The details
At its Jan. 22 workshop, the board reviewed preliminary drafts for a potential bond package totaling $85 million, which would include three propositions:
- Proposition A: Westwood Elementary replacement, critical infrastructure replacements, safety and security, buses and land
- Proposition B: New agricultural science center
- Proposition C: Technology
The proposed bond would result in a projected tax rate increase of $0.0513 per $100 of valuation, FISD’s Chief Financial Officer Amber Petree said at the Jan. 22 workshop.
The board will consider bond propositions by its Feb. 9 meeting to call for a potential bond election in May.

If an election is called, early voting would take place from April 20-28, with election day May 2.
