T.C. Jester Boulevard signal installation1. T.C. Jester Boulevard signal installation


Crews continue work on the signal installation at 10 intersections on T.C. Jester Boulevard between FM 1960 and FM 2920. The contractor, Third Coast Services, has completed the work between FM 1960 and Louetta Road, and the first four traffic signals were activated Sept. 14.

2. Aldine Westfield Road widening


Harris County has awarded the construction contract for the widening of Aldine Westfield Road from East Louetta to Riley Fuzzel roads to Allgood Construction Company. Utility relocations are ongoing for the project, which will widen Aldine Westfield Road from a two-lane asphalt roadway to a four-lane thoroughfare. The county has scheduled a preconstruction meeting for the project, which has been given a 240-day construction contract.

3. Gosling Road widening Segment 1


Harris County is accepting bids for the expansion of Gosling Road from Spring Stuebner to Mossy Oaks roads. The project—which will widen the roadway from two to four lanes—is expected to be awarded to a contractor sometime in November.

4. Gosling Road widening segments 2 and 3


The second and third segments of the Gosling Road expansion are in the study phase, during which time Harris County will establish the alignment and proposed section of the expansion. Segment 2 stretches from Mossy Oaks to West Rayford roads while Segment 3 runs from West Rayford Road to Creekside Forest Drive. The projects are expected to receive funding from Harris County’s $700 million road bond referendum, which was approved by voters Nov. 3.

5. The Grand Parkway segments F-1, F-2 and G


Contractor Zachry-Odebrecht Parkway Builders is nearing completion on segments F-1, F-2 and G of Houston’s third loop, which stretch from Hwy. 290 to Hwy. 59. Several lanes and ramps are closed for construction. Road closures through the fall include the I-45 northbound exit ramp at Spring Crossing Drive and the Hardy Toll Road, the I-45 northbound frontage left lane from the Spring Stuebner Road entrance ramp to north of exit No. 72, and the I-45 northbound entrance ramps at Spring Stuebner Road and FM 2920. The left lane of Hwy. 249 at Boudreaux Road will be closed until 3 p.m. Dec. 1. Northbound and southbound traffic on Boudreaux Road will shift from Champions Forest to Max Conrad drives until 4 p.m. Nov. 27.

6. I-45 HOV lanes


Crews have started construction on high occupancy vehicle lanes on I-45 from South Loop 336 in Montgomery County to FM 1960 in Harris County. The project will install an HOV lane in each direction similar to those found on I-10 in Houston. The project is expected to take six months to complete.
