Unofficial results show incumbent Hubert Vo as the projected winner over challenger Al Hoang in the race for the Texas House Seat in District 149 with 54.61 percent, or 11,500 votes, to Hoang's 45.39 percent, or 9,558 votes.
Vo said he's proud to have the support of the residents of District 149.
"I feel very good to have the support from the people in District 149 for the last 10 years, and I am proud to have their support one more time," he said. "I understand the importance of the issues of District 149 such as education and economic development and the work I have done to support the people of this district is the reason for their continued support."

Early voting results show incumbent Hubert Vo with an early lead over challenger Al Hoang in the race for the Texas House seat in District 149 with 53.12 percent, or 6,953 votes, to Hoang's 46.88 percent, or 6,136 votes.
Vo has served District 149 since 2005 and is vice chair of the Economic Small Business Committee and a member of the Government Efficiency and Reform and House Administration committees.
Hoang is a criminal defense attorney and served as a Houston City Council member from 2009 to 2013.
District 149 covers the southwest part of Harris County along the Fort Bend County line, south of I-10 and west of Beltway 8, including most of Alief and part of Katy. Effective January 2015, the eastern boundaries of the district will be adjusted to cover more of Beltway 8 and less of Richmond Avenue. The new boundaries can be viewed at www.house.state.tx.us.
