U.S. Rep. Kevin Brady (R-The Woodlands) is the presumptive winner over his opponent, Larry Youngblood.
With 91 of precincts reporting results, Brady has garnered 46,890 votes, or 76.54 percent, while Youngblood has received 14,367 votes, or 23.45 percent, according to the Secretary of State's office.
"I'm pleased and honored by the strong showing of support in a tough anti-incumbent year," Brady said. "Voters know me well and they appreciate that I work hard to stay in touch with them by not moving to Washington, by holding a lot of town hall meetings and fighting for Texas energy jobs. I look forward to the November election."
Brady has served the 8th Congressional District since 1997. He will oppose Democrat Neil Burns in the November election.
U.S. representatives serve four-year terms.
